Setting up the tent was easy since we had set it up in our backyard once before the big trip. A few helpful things we took with us on the trip was an air mattress, flashlights, bug spray, a fan, an extension cord, an ice cooler and a cooler with ice for water. We went ahead an purchased the electric/water site for $34.00.
Starting a fire for our camping spot was very fun. We roasted marshmallows and sat down to watch the fire. We purchased a bag to add to the fire that added colors. You have to add the bag of color all at once. This made watching the fire extra special.
The Gem Mine was fun and we decided to purchase two bags for under $15.00. We were told to add a little add a time. This just made it last longer. The bags contained several rocks and great for rock collectors.
Yogi came out a couple of times a day. In the morning Yogi shook hands with everyone and gave them a hug or two. Then the flags were put up and the pledges were made. The hay ride was free and anyone could get on and enjoy the songs. They had Pedal Cart Rentals which we enjoyed for 30 minutes. They do have an indoor pool but we preferred the outdoor pool. It was great to cool off.
We went to Canyon Lake for a while to enjoy the the scenery. The water was cool and we couldn't help but put our feet in. We saw several deer on the way, it was a very fun and relaxing trip.
